Strategic Achievements

New MS and PhD Programme Applications

The Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) introduced two new MS programmes, namely, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Power Engineering and Smart Grids (PESG). The School also introduced LUMS and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) fellowships to young scientists from developing countries (other than Pakistan) who wish to pursue research towards a PhD in Natural Sciences and Engineering for Fall 2024. Another Visiting programme named SSE for Everyone was also introduced. The Office of Admissions configured the online applications and updated the web content for all these programmes.

Introduction of LUMS Graduate Admission Test for Economics and SOE

The Office introduced the LUMS Graduate Admission Test for Economics and the MPhil programmes offered at the Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education (SOE).

Highlights

  • LUMS SBASSE Scientific Aptitude Test and LUMS Common Admission Test (LCAT) for the undergraduate programmes were conducted successfully. Approximately 2,800 candidates appeared for the Undergraduate Programme Admission Test in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar and Quetta.
  • LUMS SBASSE Subject Test and LUMS Graduate Admission Test (LGAT) were conducted successfully. Approximately 1,400 candidates appeared for the test in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad.
  • The Office of Admissions proactively engaged in several outreach activities led by the Office of Advancement, SDSB, SOE and SBASSE. Its staff supported Open House sessions and several faculty talks.
  • Admission processes have been improved to achieve operational excellence. These include process automation and improved planning and implementation of working strategy to achieve targets in a timely manner.
